Wolves finally brought an end to their 11-match Premier League losing run after holding a flat Manchester United to a 1–1 draw at Old Trafford, a result that left the home side booed off at full time.
United, depleted by injuries and international absences, showed little fluency but still edged ahead in the 27th minute when Joshua Zirkzee’s effort took a heavy deflection and looped past goalkeeper José Sá. It was a fortunate breakthrough in an otherwise disjointed first half.
Wolves, however, grew into the game and were rewarded just before the break. After United keeper Senne Lammens denied Hugo Bueno, Ladislav Krejčí rose unmarked at the far post to head home from close range, punishing United’s poor defensive organisation.

The visitors continued to look the more purposeful side after the restart. Lammens was forced into a sharp save to deny Krejčí a second, while Wolves almost benefitted from a freak moment when Yerson Mosquera’s header drifted dangerously towards his own goal, only for Sá to scramble back in time.
Sá was also involved in a rare incident late on, penalised for holding the ball beyond the eight-second limit — only the third time the rule has been enforced this season ; though Wolves failed to capitalise from the resulting corner.

Both sides had late chances to win it. Jhon Arias fired narrowly wide for Wolves, while United thought they had snatched victory in the final minute through Patrick Dorgu, only for VAR to rule the goal out for offside.
The draw gives Wolves just their third point of the campaign and their first since early October, offering little relief in a bleak survival battle. For United, it was another reminder of their inconsistency, a missed opportunity that leaves Ruben Amorim’s side sixth and short of their ambitions heading into the new year.
