UK broadcaster Channel 4 has struck a landmark agreement with CAF to show every match of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 live and free-to-air ; the first time in history the full tournament will be available for free in the UK.

Under the deal, all 52 matches will be broadcast across Channel 4, E4, 4Seven, Channel 4 Streaming and Channel 4 Sport’s YouTube channel. The tournament runs from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026, featuring 24 nations across nine stadiums in Morocco.

CAF General Secretary Véron Mosengo-Omba described the move as a defining moment for the competition.

This agreement is historic in many ways and it ensures that AFCON 2025 will live in every household in the UK for the first time,” he said. “It affirms AFCON’s position as one of the most sought-after assets in global football.

Channel 4’s Head of Sport, Pete Andrews, said the broadcaster was thrilled to bring Africa’s biggest football event to a wider UK audience.

Bringing the excitement and drama of AFCON exclusively to UK free-to-air television for the first time is a compelling proposition, having Liverpool legend Mo Salah on Channel 4 on Boxing Day means football fans will still get their festive football fix.

AFCON 2025 is set to feature a strong Premier League contingent, including Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush with Egypt, who face Zimbabwe on 22 December and South Africa on Boxing Day.

Other stars expected at the tournament include Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo, Noussair Mazraoui, Iliman Ndiaye, Idrissa Gueye, Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
