Ghana and Los Angeles Galaxy winger Joseph Paintsil has rejected reported statements in connection to the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The 27 year old was quoted by some quarters stating, “I was disappointed [to miss out on the 2022 World Cup] but my job is to stay focused. There are more World Cups ahead, and my hope is to be part of the squad for this next one” in an interview on Citi FM’s Sports Panorama.

However, those statements were not made in the near 30 minute long interview on the trendy radio sports program and the 2024 MLS Cup winner confirmed this by stating on his X (former Twitter) page, “False Publication”.

What Joseph Paintsil did however say on Citi FM’s Sports Panorama, was that, “We-as players- have to give everything especially for Ghanaians and the badge. It’s going to be an amazing group stage for us with playing against England, Croatia.” (Click highlighted text to read full story)
