President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) and Commonwealth Sports Ghana, Richard Akpokavie Esq., has held a strategic meeting with the Commonwealth Secretary-General, H.E. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, to advance Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

The discussions centred on enhancing collaboration ahead of the Games and reinforcing both parties’ commitment to inclusive sports development, particularly initiatives that empower women and girls across the Commonwealth.

The 2026 Commonwealth Games will take place in Glasgow, Scotland, from July 23 to August 2, 2026. Glasgow was confirmed as host in September 2024 after the Australian state of Victoria withdrew due to rising costs.
