England manager Thomas Tuchel has stated that players who will be selected to the 2026 FIFA World Cup won’t be just down to talent.
According to British media outlet, the BBC, Tuchel has pinned social skills and player needs for the team as the main items to be looked in the selection process.
England have been drawn in Group L at the World Cup with Ghana, Croatia and Panama; England play Croatia on June 17 in their opening game and Tuchel believes having the right player personalities and squad balance is what he is looking out for.
“When I speak to players who have been in World Cups, it has always made the difference when the connection was right, when the communication was right.”

“When the players had the feeling that the right group is in camp, that they knew their role… they would be happy to be together, then they were successful” Tuchel said.
England are aiming to win the World Cup for the first time since 1966.
