Mayor of Kumasi, Richard Agyemang Boadi, has promised Kumasi Asante Kotoko players immense financial benefits should the team beat arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak. [Scroll down to watch video]

In the presence of Ashanti Regional Minister Frank Amoakohene and other dignitaries, the Kumasi Mayor made this promise to Kotoko players on a visit to a training session ahead of the big game this weekend.

Kotoko take on Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday, February 15 at the Baba Yara Stadium in need of a win after winning just once in their last four games in all competitions.

The Porcupine Warriors lost 3-1 to Kpando Heart of Lions in the league and lost 4-2 on penalties to Aduana Stars to exit the MTN FA Cup at the round of 16 stage and the Kumasi Mayor is calling on the team to halt this run.

“We want you to score and on Monday, you will be financially rewarded; beat them-Hearts of Oak-“

“If you are able to beat them by three or four goals, on Monday, you will see the amount of money you will enjoy in this city so play for each other, play for Kumasi, play for the Regional Minister, play for Asanteman” the Kumasi Mayor said.
