Former Black Stars player and 1978 AFCON winner Willie Klutse has said that the rape allegations surrounding Thomas Partey- if proven true -would point to a failure on the part of the player’s management team.
His remarks follow reports that the former Arsenal and Ghana midfielder has been hit with two additional rape charges, according to the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service.
Speaking to Citi Sports, Klutse stressed that rising football stars need strong and responsible management to help them stay disciplined and avoid temptations.

“About Partey , the guy is going through the most difficult times in his football career and these are some of the things, when you are a star, you go through sometimes, if you are not disciplined”
“If you don’t have a very good technical team that will control that kind of situation, they get into trouble. I’m sure, when Partey got to Europe, he didn’t have a good mentor or guidance who advised him”

“So, if all they are saying is true, then his managers didn’t help him. If they are true, really true, then his managers in Europe didn’t help him. They let him feel free, and he thinks, with his fame, he can do what he likes,” he said.
Partey, who is currently on bail, is permitted to continue playing professional football.
However, his bail conditions require him to notify police at least 24 hours in advance of any international travel and prohibit contact with the complainants.
