Ahead of the much anticipated clash between Ghana and England at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico, England manager Thomas Tuchel has extended his contract with the Three Lions.

The German tactician has signed an extension to his contract with the new arrangement set to see him lead England in the 2028 Euros. The next Euros takes place in Wales, Ireland, England and Scotland.

Ghana take on England at the World Cup in a Group L matchup on June 23 in Boston; Panama and Croatia have been drawn in the group.

“I did not hesitate when asked to continue in this dream job. Euro 2028 will be a very special tournament and as a coach there is nothing more you want than to compete with the very best on the biggest possible stage” Tuchel said via a statement from the English FA after announcing the contract extension.

“By securing them early for 2028, we have taken away the potential distraction of contract negotiations around the tournament” CEO of the English FA Mark Bullingham said.
