Speaking on behalf of the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Iddie Adams, Board Chairman of the National Sports Authority, Dr Fred Awaah, underscored the broader significance of the competition.
“This goes beyond football. It is about wellness, recreation, and overall well-being. As a government, we have consistently supported the use of sports as a tool for recreation and healthy living,” he said.
“What the University of Ghana is doing is commendable, and we call on partners to support this important initiative.”
According to the organisers, the upcoming edition will place greater emphasis on professionalism and competitiveness, building on the success of the maiden edition.
The league is set to kick off on Friday, February 13, and is designed to provide a structured platform for corporate institutions to engage in sport, promote staff wellness, foster networking, and deliver regular football action within the university environment.
