With 79 days left until the 2026 FIFA World Cup, preparations are already underway across all 48 qualified teams, and the Ghana national football team is no different. March marks the start of that build-up, with international friendlies offering teams a chance to fine-tune tactics and assess squad depth.
Ghana has lined up four high-level test matches, in what is being seen as one of the most competitive pre-tournament schedules assembled by the Ghana Football Association in recent years.
The Black Stars will face the Austria national football team on Friday, March 27, 2026, before taking on the Germany national football team, the tournament co-hosts Mexico national football team, and Wales national football team.

There is also the possibility of a fifth friendly ahead of Ghana’s World Cup opener against the Panama national football team on June 17, 2026.
Focus first shifts to Austria, led by former Manchester United coach Ralf Rangnick. Friday’s encounter will be just the second meeting between the two sides. Their only previous clash, a friendly in March 2007, ended 1-1.
