Manchester City’s chances of winning the English Premier League title have slimmed even further after failing to beat West Ham United.
Pep Guardiola’s team drew 1-1 with West Ham to trail league leaders Arsenal by nine points with eight league games remaining on Man City’s schedule.
The draw against West Ham came ahead of a crucial week for Man City who took on Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League trailing 3-0 from the first leg.
Pep Guardiola’s team take on Arsenal in the FA Cup final on March 22 with the chance for either team to win their first title of the 2025-2026 season but after the draw, Guardiola bemoaned his team’s lack of consistency unlike in previous years to the BBC.
“We didn’t score enough goals. It happened a thousand millions times for this team in the last decade but this season we [have] struggled.”

“To win the Premier League you need to be more consistent. In the past we had the consistency to win and win and win, to always find a way. In the past, we always found a way to win this type of game” he said.
