The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has expressed criticism of the Black Stars following their 2-1 defeat to Germany in a friendly match.
“This cannot be Ghana. What happened yesterday is not coaching,” he said, expressing concern over the national team’s decline under former head coach Otto Addo.
The Speaker made these remarks at the launch of the 3rd edition of the Democracy Cup.

Otto Addo was sacked by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) after the defeat in Stuttgart, leaving the Black Stars in search of a new coach just 72 days before the 2026 World Cup.
The Speaker’s comments reflect growing frustration over the team’s inconsistent performances and tactical struggles, as Ghana prepares for the global tournament.
The national team now faces a critical period of rebuilding and strategy adjustments to ensure competitiveness on football’s biggest stage.
