Tottenham Hotspur has appointed Roberto De Zerbi as the new head coach, signing a contract that will keep him at the club until June 2031.
The Italian manager arrives with a clear mandate to reshape Spurs’ fortunes, both in the short and long term, as the club looks to climb the Premier League table and re-establish itself among England’s elite.
In a statement released by the team, De Zerbi expressed his excitement at taking on the role.

“I am delighted to be joining this fantastic football club, which is one of the biggest and most prestigious in the world,” he said.
He also pointed to alignment with the club’s leadership as a key factor behind his decision.
“In all my discussions with the Club’s leadership, their ambition for the future has been clear, to build a team capable of reaching great achievements, and to do that playing a style of football that excites and inspires our supporters. I am here because I believe in that ambition and have signed a long-term contract to give everything to deliver it.”
De Zerbi explained that immediate results will be a priority, with Spurs aiming to improve their league position before the end of the current campaign.

“Our short-term priority is to climb the Premier League table, which will be the complete focus until the final whistle of the last game of the season. I’m looking forward to getting out on the training pitch and working with these players to achieve that.”
His appointment signals a new direction for Tottenham, with expectations high that his attacking philosophy can deliver both results and a more entertaining brand of football for supporters.
