A Division Two League fixture between Ahenkan FC and Akwatia Vidako FC descended into chaos at Oda Stadium after controversial refereeing decisions triggered a pitch invasion and scenes of disorder.

The match, which had already been tense, erupted following what supporters of Ahenkan FC perceived as biased officiating aimed at frustrating their team’s performance.

Linesman’s Dramatic Escape Goes Viral

The most striking moment from the incident saw one of the assistant referees sprinting across the pitch in a desperate attempt to escape angry players and fans.

Center Referee Escorted by Police

Amid the escalating tension, the center referee required protection from the Ghana Police Service, who escorted him off the pitch to prevent further confrontation.

The intervention was necessary as the situation threatened to spiral into physical violence, highlighting the dangerous environment match officials can face in lower-tier competitions.
