Members of Berekum Chelsea have arrived safely in Berekum following the attack on the team bus after their 1–0 defeat to FC Samartex in Samreboi on Sunday, April 12.
The team returned on Monday, April 13 in a bus provided by fellow Ghana Premier League side Bibiani Gold Stars, in the wake of the incident that claimed the life of forward Dominic Frimpong.
The 20-year-old died after sustaining a gunshot wound during the attack. In response, the Ghana Police Service has launched a manhunt for the perpetrators.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has expressed profound shock and deep sorrow over the killing, describing it as not only a devastating loss to Berekum Chelsea but to Ghana football as a whole.
In a statement, the GFA says it will review and strengthen security protocols for club travel.

Frimpong, who the GFA described as a “promising young talent whose dedication and passion for the game embodied the spirit of our league,” was on loan at Berekum Chelsea from Aduana since January.
