Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has underscored the importance of striker Kelvin Obeng to his side. The 26-year-old found the net in Medeama’s emphatic 4–0 victory over Asante Kotoko in their Week 29 Ghana Premier League clash at the TNA Stadium.

Obeng, who recently returned from a knee injury following his move from Aduana Stars, played a key role in the win. Tanko praised his impact, noting that his presence adds significant quality and attacking threat to the Mauve and Yellow.

“You need a type of striker who can keep the ball for you, who is good in the air and you could see that he is a typical striker in the box and that was the type of striker we were missing in the first round. I think adding him has given us a lot of options” Tanko said to the club’s media after the win.

Beating Kotoko, coupled with Bibiani Gold Stars’ loss to Aduana Stars, moved Medeama to first place in the league standings with a two point lead.
