The future of the Golden State Warriors core of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and head coach Steve Kerr is uncertain after the team failed to make the playoffs.

That follows a 111–96 defeat to the Phoenix Suns in the final round of the NBA Play-In Tournament, having earlier beaten the Los Angeles Clippers.

After scoring 35 points in 36 minutes to eliminate the Clippers, Curry struggled for rhythm against Phoenix, finishing with 17 points after making just three of 10 attempts from beyond the arc.

Speaking after the loss, Kerr, who led the Warriors to four NBA titles, suggested his time with the team could be nearing an end.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen. I still love coaching, but I get it. These jobs all have an expiration date.”

“There is a run that happens and when the run ends, sometimes it’s time for new blood and new ideas.”

“If [my time is done], then I will be nothing but grateful for the most amazing opportunity any person could have to coach this franchise in front of our fans and to coach Steph Curry, [Draymond Green], the whole group. It may still go on. It may not” Steve Kerr said.
