Ghana’s U-20 women’s team, the Black Princesses, have qualified for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland, but tensions have emerged in camp over unpaid allowances and bonuses.
A member of the team, speaking on condition of anonymity, says players are yet to receive their per diems and qualification bonuses since the early stages of the qualifiers.

According to the source, the team has not been paid for the Tunisia fixture played at the start of the qualifying campaign in September 2025. She also pointed to confusion over previous payments made during the run.
“The last time they paid us, they said it was for the South Africa game and not the game against Tunisia. They gave us $700 for the away game and GH¢5,000 for the home game, but I know it should have been more than that, so Tunisia, not South Africa,” she said.
The source further indicated that the team is considering remaining in camp until all outstanding payments are settled.
Despite the concerns, the Black Princesses secured qualification for their eighth FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup appearance, set for Poland in September. The situation has renewed attention on player welfare and logistical support for national youth teams during international competitions.
