Ghana’s sprinters Abdul-Raheed Saminu and Joseph Paul Amoah have qualified for the men’s 100m final at the ongoing 24th African Senior Athletics Championships at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

Saminu secured his place in the final after winning Heat 2, while Amoah also impressed by finishing first in Heat 3 in 10.37s.

However, Ghana’s Edwin Gadayi failed to progress to the final after finishing last in Heat 2, the same heat won by Saminu.

The two athletes delivered strong performances in front of the home crowd as Ghana continues to chase medals at the continental championship.

The men’s 100m final is expected to be one of the standout events of the competition, with the athletes hoping to make a mark on home soil at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
