World-renowned football agency CAA Base, in collaboration with ArthurLegacy Sports Limited, hosted a football seminar at the Mensvic Grand Hotel as part of activities marking the ArthurLegacy Invitational Tournament on Thursday May 21, 2026.

The Seminar brought together key football stakeholders on Thursday, delivering a comprehensive learning platform focused on the legal, technical, and international dimensions of the modern game.

The seminar convened young footballers, coaches, managers, and administrators from across the industry, offering participants valuable insights into structured pathways to professional football and access to opportunities abroad.

The event featured presentations from football administrators, legal experts, diplomats, and international representatives, all aimed at equipping participants with practical knowledge beyond the pitch.

Opening the seminar, CEO of ArthurLegacy Sports Limited, Oliver Arthur, emphasised the broader vision behind the initiative:

“This isn’t a new concept. The tournament has been running for years. What makes this edition unique is the inclusion of CAA Base, one of the world’s leading sports agencies.

It has taken considerable effort to engage them on the African market. While they dominate in Europe and South America, they previously had no base in Africa. Through ArthurLegacy, we’ve successfully partnered with them to establish a presence here.”

Lawyer Theophilus Kwampong Abuah

Legal education formed a key component of the seminar, with Professional Footballers Association of Ghana Legal Counsel, Theophilus Kwampong Abuah, delivering a detailed presentation on football’s legal framework.

His session addressed player contracts, regulatory compliance, and the responsibilities of administrators and player managers.

From a technical standpoint, Francis Adu Essah of the Ghana Football Association guided participants through the procedures involved in player registration and transfers, shedding light on the digital systems that underpin modern football administration.

Adding an international perspective, Gabriele Palermo, Deputy Italian Ambassador to Ghana, provided clarity on visa acquisition processes for players seeking opportunities in Europe:

“Footballers travelling to Italy for trials must return to their home countries before any transfer documentation is finalised. Understanding and respecting this process is essential for a smooth transition.”

Representatives from CAA Base introduced participants to the agency’s global operations, highlighting elite players under their management and outlining the key attributes European scouts evaluate when assessing emerging talent.

CAA Base football consultant Aaron Afriyie expressed optimism about the partnership’s long-term impact on Ghanaian football:

“This has been a long time coming. As a Ghanaian, returning home to contribute is deeply meaningful. If we can support the development of young talents here, then we’re fulfilling a vital purpose.” he said.

CAA Base has worked with Arthur for over a decade, so collaborating on this initiative felt natural. The talent in Ghana is undeniable, what matters now is creating the right environment and opportunities for players to thrive.”

Participants also gained deeper insights into the evolving football ecosystem connecting Ghana to Europe, reinforcing the seminar’s core objective: bridging knowledge gaps and preparing local talent for the demands of the global game.
