Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has congratulated Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta after the latter guided Arsenal to win the 2025-2026 English Premier League title. Winning this season’s title marked the first time in 22 years that Arsenal have won the trophy.

After beating Burnley 1-0 on Monday, May 18, Arsenal were declared league champions after closest contender Man City failed to beat AFC Bournemouth. City drew 1-1 with The Cherries to fall four points behind Arsenal with just a game remaining in the league campaign.

Arsenal’s league win comes ahead of the club’s UEFA Chmpions League Final against defending champions Paris Saint-Germain on May 30. Speaking to Sky Sports after the draw, Pep Guardiola shared positive words about his former assistant who ended the Gunners’ league title drought.

“The players gave everything all the season, fighting for difficult circumstances until the end. We were close.”
