After 22 years, the wait is over; Arsenal are English Premier League Champions again. The Gunners 1-0 win over Burnley coupled with Manchester City’s 1-1 draw with AFC Bournemouth put Mikel Arteta’s side four points clear at the top of the standings with just a league game left to complete the season.
Winning the league crowns a steady build by Arsenal under former player Arteta who led the team to three straight second place finishes in the league prior to this season. Winning the league could be the start of a grand double for the club as Arsenal are scheduled to play against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League Final on May 30.
Like the past two seasons, Arsenal’s fine run has been bolstered by its defence culminating in goalkeeper David Raya winning the Golden Glove Award three times in a row; with just a game left to play in the league, Arsenal have kept the most clean sheets (19).

On the other hand, Man City’s miss on capturing the league title could be the end of Pep Guardiola’s era at the club as reports have indicated that the Spaniard won’t continue as manager of the club after this season.

Former Man City assistant coach and former Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca is expected to replace him.
