Netherlands national football team have confirmed their squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with the omission of Jeremie Frimpong emerging as one of the biggest surprises ahead of the tournament.

The Liverpool FC full-back has been left out despite an impressive season at club level, while Crysencio Summerville earned a shock inclusion after yet to make his senior international debut.

The Dutch squad will still rely heavily on experienced figures including captain Virgil van Dijk and veteran striker Memphis Depay as they prepare for another World Cup campaign.

Several Premier League-based players were selected, including Nathan Aké, Jurriën Timber, Micky van de Ven, Ryan Gravenberch, Tijjani Reijnders and Cody Gakpo.

Lutsharel Geertruida and Ian Maatsen have meanwhile been placed on standby in case of late injuries before the tournament begins.
