Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards was a serious doubt to feature in Game One of the Timberwolves’ NBA second round best of seven game series against the San Antonio Spurs.
However, the multi-time NBA All-Stars returned from a knee injury to lead Minnesota to a stunning 104-102 win over the Spurs in San Antonio.
In just 25 minutes off the bench, Edwards registered 18 points on the back of an efficient scoring outing. He converted eight of 13 field goal attempts while scoring a trio of three-point shots.
Minnesota’s stifling defense came to the fore again by frustrating Spurs star Victor Wembanyama to just 11 points, though the French player added 15 rebounds and an amazing 12 blocked shots.
Speaking after the win, Edwards shared that he was ready to do whatever the team needed from him, even if he plays limited minutes.

“I know for a fact that me being out there calms everybody down. I felt great. Whatever Coach needs from me” Edwards said to reporters.

Game 2 is scheduled for Thursday, May 7, in San Antonio.
