Arsenal Football Club manager Mikel Arteta says his side is “so hungry” to reach the UEFA Champions League final ahead of their decisive clash with Atlético Madrid.

Arsenal host Atlético at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, May 5, in the second leg of their semi-final tie.

The contest remains finely balanced after a 1-1 draw in Spain, setting up a high-stakes encounter in London.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the game, Arteta said he is eager to lead his team through the challenge as they chase a place in the final.

“I can’t wait. I mean, I feel the energy in and amongst the team, our supporters, so these are the moments that we want to live together.

“We had a lot of work as a club, as a team, after 20 years to be in this position again, and we are so hungry to get a game that we want tomorrow and go through to the final.”
