Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah has been officially called up to the England National Men’s Football Team as an injury replacement.
He steps in as a replacement for Newcastle United defender Tino Livramento who was ruled out of competing in the 2026 FIFA World Cup to a calf injury leading to Chalobah’s call up.
Chalobah has just one cap for England which came in June 2025 but his return to the Three Lions would have to wait till the end of England’s opening game against Croatia on Wednesday, June 17.
26 year old Chalobah played 42 games in the UEFA Champions League and English Premier League and registered three goals across both competitions while winning the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
The 6 foot 4 inch Chalobah can play as a right full back though his preferred position is at centre back and will serve as a back-up for Chelsea teammate Reece James who is set to start in the right full back position for England.

Reacting to the news on his Instagram page, Chalobah reposted a message of a photo of the World Cup trophy he shared in 2018 and added the caption, “One day #Believe”.
