Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has backed his team to deliver a big result against England at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana play England in the second round of games in Group L on Tuesday, June 23 at the Boston Stadium after beating Panama 1-0.
England are heavily tipped to win the tie after beating Croatia 4-2 but Queiroz didn’t sound perturbed by the low odds of his team grabbing a win over the Three Lions.
“This is the easiest type of match, because when you’re about to play against England, France or Germany, you don’t need to say anything to the players. They’re fully motivated.”

“Everybody is fully switched on and everybody wants to perform well. What we have to do in this type of game is to try and moderate the enthusiasm. We know they have the three lions on their shirt, but we come from Ghana and have 33 million lions to fight for this game” Queiroz said.
