Head coach of Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team, Carlos Queiroz, has lauded his team for adapting quickly to his style of his play despite spending limited time together.

He passed this compliment in his post game presser after Ghana drew 1-1 with Wales in a pre-2026 World Cup friendly played in Cardiff as Ghana readies to play against England, Panama and Croatia at the World Cup.

Queiroz was appointed in April and the draw against Wales marked his first game in charge of the Black Stars heading to the World Cup. He made wholesale changes for the friendly including featuring goalkeepers Lawrence Ati Zigi and Benjamin Asare in either half of the game and was impressed with the output by stating that,

“We received (in camp) nine players yesterday, they arrived from London. We had been training with nine, 11 players and it was only yesterday that we had one training session (with the full squad).”

“What pleased me a lot was the way that the players answered my instructions. My game plan; they followed, they respected, they trusted the game plan.”
