The race for leadership of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has officially taken shape following the close of nominations for the association’s upcoming Elective Extraordinary Congress.
The Ghana Boxing Interim Management Committee (GBIMC) confirmed that prospective candidates successfully submitted their nomination forms at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, paving the way for the next phase of the electoral process.
The presidential contest will feature two candidates, Ivan Bruce-Cudjoe and Rabbon Dodoo, who will compete for the top position in Ghana boxing administration.
For the position of First Vice President, Ofori A. Ernest and Roger Nii Bonney Barnor have both secured nominations and will face off in the elections.

The race for Second Vice President is set to be contested by Dave Bishop, Ellis Quaye and Moshud Zaid.
A total of seven candidates have also been nominated to contest for places on the Executive Board. They are Alhaji Tofiki Muritala, Yusif Mubarak Nanor, Samuel Opoku Amoah, Bernard Tetteh Nartey, Shadrack Acquaye, Derek Nii Asai Ankrah and Lawrence Carl Lokko.
Meanwhile, Nathaniel Awuku Obeng is the sole nominee for the Treasurer position.

The committee has assured stakeholders that the election process will be conducted in a transparent and fair manner, in accordance with the provisions of the GBA Constitution.
The upcoming congress is expected to usher in a new leadership team tasked with steering Ghana boxing through its next chapter, following months of reforms and administrative restructuring within the sport.
