Ahead of its clash against England in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni says his team isn’t as bad as many people believe.
Scaloni’s Argentina takes on England on Wednesday, July 15 in Atlanta to determine the team that progresses to the final to play against France.
The defending World Champions Argentina have struggled to dominate their opponents in the knockout phase after registering a 3-2 win over minnows Cape Verde, 3-2 win over against Egypt and 3-1 win over Switzerland after extra time but Scaloni believes his team has been better than advertised.
“The team isn’t playing as bad as people say. We must have done something right to reach this stage.”

“I’m grateful to the players. They’ve led us to three titles and now another semifinal. We’re just one step away, and we’re going to give it our all to get there” Scaloni said.
Argentina beat France 3-2 to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
