Inter Milan head coach Cristian Chivu has praised the signing of English defender John Stones who has joined Inter Milan from Manchester City.
The 32 year old Stones signed a two year deal with the defending Italian Serie A champions after completing medicals held on Thursday, July 30.
Stones joined Inter Milan as a free agent after a decade long run with Man City that had him win the UEFA Champions League and multiple FA Cup, Carabao Cup and English Premier League titles.
Speaking ahead of a friendly game against Man City on Saturday, August 1, Chivu highlighted the qualities Stones brings to Inter.
“I’m happy with Stones’ arrival. He is important for us for many reasons: his quality, his personality and his charisma.”

“He raises the level of our defence.”

“The team is competitive, but there is always a need for important players who can take you to the next level and allow you to stay aligned with this club’s ambitions” Chivu said at a presser.

Stones won bronze with England at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
