Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum has reacted to the trade that sent long time teammate Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia Sixers.
Five time NBA All-Star Brown was traded from Boston to the Sixers with veteran forward Paul George going in the opposite direction late in June.
The trade ended the nine year run for Boston with Brown and Tatum on their roster that yielded an NBA title in 2024 after beating the Dallas Mavericks in the finals.
Tatum missed a significant part of the 2025-2026 season while recovering from an Achilles injury and shared his thoughts on the trade by stating,
“You play on a team with a guy for nine years. I was fortunate enough to go to the [NBA] Finals with him twice, and win a championship, and push each other to be the players that we are today… It’s tough.”

“Obviously, it came to an abrupt ending, but it doesn’t mean that it wasn’t super successful. Great years, obviously, that he gave to the city and to the organization” Tatum said according to Celtics Blog.
