Basketball superstar LeBron James has agreed to join the Philadelphia 76ers ahead of the 2026, 2027 NBA season.
The 41-year-old announced his decision after weeks of speculation following his departure from the Los Angeles Lakers during the offseason.
LeBron James has reportedly signed a two-year, $8 million deal with the 76ers in a move widely seen as the final chapter of his illustrious NBA career.
The veteran forward confirmed the move in a statement posted on his X account, formerly Twitter, revealing that Philadelphia will be his final NBA destination.
“This is my last decision. I’m not going for money. I’m not going for family.”
“What am I really playing for at this point? I still want to sacrifice. I still want to work. I still want to grind.”
“I still want to compete, to win and to have a chance at the feeling of winning another championship. I believe I can help make the Philadelphia 76ers a championship team and I am so excited to energize a new fan base and start this incredible journey one last time” LeBron said.
By joining the Sixers, he teams up with Jaylen Brown, All- Star Tyrese Maxey and former Most Valuable Player Award winner Joel Embiid.
