He said this in in his first official interview with the club after joining the Turkish side on a season long loan deal from German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.
The 22 year old joined Leverkusen during the 2025-2026 season after spending four seasons at Dutch Eredivisie club AZ Alkmaar.
In his sole run at Bayer Leverkusen, the 22 year old Poku played 45 games in all competitions and registered five goals and eight assists and stated that,
“I chose to play for Besiktas because of the fans and also [because of] the league, how competitive it is and it fits well with my style of play.”

“I know the fans are super amazing that’s something I like and it’s something that’s going to give me a boost”.
