Cape Verde goalkeeper Josimar Evora “Vozinha” Dias says he has always believed he was destined to play for a big club, describing his move to Chilean giants Colo-Colo as the perfect fit.

Vozinha made the remarks after completing his move following an outstanding 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign with Cape Verde. The tournament debutants reached the Round of 32 before bowing out with a 3-2 extra-time defeat to 2022 world champions Argentina.

The 40-year-old received a rousing welcome from fans on his arrival in Chile. After spending much of his career in Europe’s lower divisions, Vozinha said he did not hesitate to join Colo Colo for the opportunity to compete in the Copa Libertadores, South America’s premier club competition.

“The decision was very clear. Despite playing in smaller leagues for clubs that weren’t exactly giants, deep down I always told myself I was a ‘big club’ player.”

” So when Colo Colo came calling, there was no doubt.”

“From day one, I knew where I wanted to play. I received many offers, but Colo Colo was always the priority” Vozinha said at a presser.
