Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany has attributed midfielder Jamal Musiala’s collapses in games to a change in the treatment of a neurological dysfunction the German international suffers from.
He made this revelation in a press conference ahead of Bayern’s German Super Cup clash against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, August 22.
Musiala collapsed twice in four days during pre-season games against Heidenheim and RB Leipzig before he stated on Instagram that he had been diagnosed with a neurological dysfunction that led to the seizures. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
Addressing the press, Kompany said that Musiala had given him permission to talk about his health status at the presser.
“I spoke with Jamal, he said, ‘no problem, you can say it.”

“With his treatment he changed some things and that had some side effects. That is normal, that during treatment you try something else.”

“I am completely calm. I now expect the counter-attack from Jamal. I have the feeling that he now has all the means to deliver these answers” Kompany said.
