Medeama have been knocked out of the CAF Champions League after losing 3–1 to TP Mazembe in the second leg of their preliminary-round tie in Lubumbashi.
The Ghana Premier League champions entered the game with a 1–0 deficit from the first leg in Tarkwa, but their hopes of overturning the result were quickly dented by the home side.
TP Mazembe took the lead in the 16th minute through Patrick Mwanungulu, before Kazema Baso added a second eight minutes later to give the Congolese giants a commanding advantage.
Medeama struggled to respond as Mazembe continued to control proceedings, with Mwanungulu scoring his second of the afternoon in the 78th minute to effectively seal the tie.
Dominic Amponsah scored a late consolation for Medeama in the 87th minute, but it was not enough to prevent the Ghanaian side from exiting the competition.
TP Mazembe advanced 4–1 on aggregate and will meet Zambia’s Red Arrows FC in the next round.
Medeama will now turn their attention to the 2026–27 Ghana Premier League as they prepare to defend their league title.
