Hisense rewards Asante Kotoko players, legends for securing GPL title

Home appliances giants, Hisense Ghana, on Sunday, presented two separate cheques totalling GHS180,000 to Asante Kotoko on their coronation day in Kumasi.

The cheques – GHS108,000 in bonuses for the club and GHS72,000  for the club’s legends – completed a fantastic day for the runaway champions, after they thrashed Elmina Sharks 3-0.

Additionally, the reigning league champions and their legends will receive GHS4,000 each as winning bonuses for Sunday’s win from the company.

A win for Kotoko in their last league game of the season will earn the players and the club’s legends an extra GH8,000 from Hisense.

Each player also took home Hisense souvenirs for their sterling performances throughout the campaign.

According to the management of Hisense, the rewards are meant to urge the club to strive for more success.

In a release from its Marketing and PR department, Hisense stated that “…we at Hisense Ghana are indeed proud of this great feat. We urge all native Ghanaian companies to support other clubs to restore our dwindling fortunes in football.

“We are happy to be part of this success story and to be associated with this powerful brand. It has really paid off. We are urging you to go the extra mile in your quest to extend your dominance on the African terrain. We will continue to support you,  go and conquer Africa. Congratulations to you and your teeming fans who continue to patronise our high-quality products.”

The well-organised ceremony saw great musical performances from Kuami Eugene and the legendary Pat Thomas, who thrilled the ecstatic fans with the popular theme song of the club ‘Asante Kotoko Oseeyie’.

Also in attendance at the event were Hisense-sponsored performers, Dancegod and the DWP Dancers, who electrified the Baba Yara Stadium with their well-rehearsed choreography.
