Kotoku Royals Football Club Head of Communications Okatakyie Afrifa has stated money for clubs in the betpawa Ghana Premier League 2022-2023 Season is “very small” but his outfit will manage with the money available.

He said this in an interview with CITI Sports as Kotoku Royals prepare to compete in the elite division for the first time in the club’s history. Royals play Accra Lions at the Cape Coast Stadium on Saturday, September 10.

Clubs in the upcoming season are billed to receive $25, 278 each as part of the $2 million per year sponsorship deal the Ghana Football Association (GFA) signed with betting company betPawa last month.

The GFA-betPawa deal is worth $6million in all with $2 million to be doled out per season; a further breakdown of the disbursement of funds per year irked stakeholders especially Karela United CEO Elloeny Amande. (Click highlighted text to read story)
