MTN FA Cup: Hearts eliminated as Kotoko march into Last 16

MTN FA Cup holders, Accra Hearts of Oak have been eliminated from the competition following a 1-0 loss to Dreams FC at the Round of 32 stage, whiles Asante Kotoko pipped Benab FC.

Agyenim Boateng put Dreams FC ahead after 9 minutes at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Phobians pushed for the equalizer and were awarded a penalty deep in injury time.

Benjamin Yorke missed from 12 yards.

However, the referee called for a retake as the goalkeeper, Augustine Koomson was adjudged to have moved off his line before the kick.

Dreams FC threatened to walk off the pitch but later reverted their decision.

Samuel Inkoom missed the subsequent penalty to seal Hearts’ exit.

Elsewhere, Kumasi Asante Kotoko toiled to a 2-1 win over Division two side, Benab FC on Saturday.

Justice Blay and Maxwell Agyemang scored for the Porcupine Warriors at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

In an all-Premier League affair at the Accra Stadium on Saturday, Accra Great Olympics and Legon Cities played out a goalless draw.

Cities progressed after winning 4-3 on penalties.

King Faisal thumped fellow Premier League club, Gold Stars 4-1 at Bibiani.

Division one side, Skyy FC caused an upset after pipping Premier League outfit, Karela United 1-0.
