Ghanaian midfielder Kudus Mohammed’s fine run in the Carabao Cup continues as the former Ajax Amsterdam scored in a convincing win for West Ham.
The Hammers beat Arsenal 3-1 in the fourth round to progress to the next stage of the knockout competition with a commanding performance.
Kudus’ neatly taken goal was sandwiched by a Ben White own goal and a fine strike from Jarrod Bowen to put David Moyes’ side into the quarterfinals.
Kudus’ goal capped a brilliant night for the Hammers who ended a three game losing streak as emphatically as the strike from the Ghanaian midfielder whose exceptional control of the ball off a long Nayef Aguerd cross field pass set him up to slam the ball close to the bottom right side of Aaron Ramsdale’s goal.
The English goalkeeper returned to the starting unit after losing his spot to newcomer David Raya.
Arsenal’s Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey missed the game due to a muscle injury he picked up just before Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League game against Sevilla in Spain.
The goal is Kudus’ third since joing West Ham this off-season and comes immediately after he was nominated in the 2023 CAF Awards Men’s Footballer of the Year Award category. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
