Ghana midfielder Alfred Duncan is in line to win the UEFA Europa Conference League title after helping the Italian team progress to the final.

Fiorentina drew 1-1 with Club Brugge in Belgium to progress to the final on a 4-3 aggregate win; fellow Ghanaian player Denis Odoi played 86 minutes in the contest but was sent off for picking up two yellow cards. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

Fiorentina’s opponent in the Conference League final was confirmed after Greek side Olympiacos beat Aston Villa 2-0 in the second leg of their semifinal clash in Greece.

Olympiacos progressed to the final via a 6-2 win on aggregate with Moroccan international forward Ayroub El-Kaabi scoring five goals across the two-legged tie.

Playing against Olympiacos at the home ground of Greek side AEK Athens on May 29 is Fiorentina’s second time competing in the final game of European football’s third tier.

Fiorentina lost 2-1 to West Ham in last year’s final and have the chance to become the second Italian team to win the competition after AS Roma won the maiden edition of the Conference League.
