FC Samartex 1996 head coach, Nurudeen Amadu, is feeling good after seeing his side progress to the second round of the CAF Champions League.
Amadu witnessed his side register a 1-0 win over Victoria United of Cameroon at the Accra Sports Stadium in the second leg of the tie.
Left full back Isaac Afful’s goal in the eighth minute settled the tie and got the Sambreboi based team to qualify via a 2-0 aggregate win after registering the same result in Cameroon in the first leg.
Speaking after the win that qualified Samartex to the second round and sets up a clash against Moroccan giant Raja Casablanca, coach Amadu stated,
“We are feeling good because this is our first time. It would have been bad if after winning the first leg, we come here and we are out so it’s a good feeling to have progressed to the next stage.”
Samartex take on Raja Casablanca in the first leg in Accra on September 13 with the second leg slated to take place on September 20. Scroll down to watch video.
