The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kurt Okraku has praised his administration for its role in boosting the performance of the country’s national teams over the past 12 months.
During this period, Ghana’s national teams have been competitive on various fronts, with the Black Stars participating in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and the Black Queens making a return to the continental stage for the first time since 2018.

The Black Princesses and the Black Satellites both won gold medals at the 2023 African Games, with the Black Princesses also securing qualification for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Okraku, while speaking at the GFA’s 30th Ordinary Congress, commended the teams’ achievements and emphasized his administration’s goal for the Black Stars to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

“We have made strides in our national team performances with the qualifications to the WAFCON, to the men’s AFCON and at the moment, we are in a good position in our determination to qualify to the [2026] World Cup,” he said.
