Kwame Owusu Danso, convener for the Forum for Accountable Governance, says he is confident that the Office of Special Prosecution (OSP) will investigate expenditure connected to the 2023 African Games and bring accountability to Ghanaians.
In an interview with the media after submitting the petition to the OSP on Tuesday, August 27, Kwame Owusu Danso expressed his confidence in the OSP to do a thorough job on controversies stemming from the 13th African Games after explicitly stating the reason behind the petition. “I’m very confident in the Office of Special Prosecution; I think that we have a plethora of examples to cite about the competencies of the OSP and also the commitment and the patriotism demonstrated by the Special Prosecutor himself, Kissi Agyebeng, because we do know that the Special Prosecutor was appointed by this government but has been very instrumental in investigating matters of corruption in this particular administration.”
“To this end, I’m very confident, highly so, that the OSP will discharge its lawful obligation to the good people of Ghana by investigating this matter and bringing accountability to the doorsteps of the Ghanaian people.”
