Ernest Nuamah was being pressured to sign for Fulham; Ghanaian broke down in tears- Report

In the wake of French football commentator Hugo Guillemet’s revelation that Ghana winger Ernest Nuamah and his camp was against signing a deal to move from French side Olympique Lyon to English Premier League side Fulham, another journalist has confirmed the report. France-based journalist, Matt Spiro wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) page that the Black Stars player was pressured to sign the deal to join Fulham and was affected by the situation so much so, the 20 year old broke down in tears during his medicals.

Spiro, who is a presenter at beIN Sports, added that Nuamah even disappeared after the medicals and Lyon owner John Textor has since apologized to the former FC Nordsjaelland player.

On the final day of the 2024 main transfer window, Friday, August 30, it was reported that a deal had been reached between Fulham and Lyon for Nuamah’s move from France to England for a fee of 15 million pounds including add-ons.

However, Italian football insider, Fabrizio Romano, gave an update that the deal had collapsed because of “issues”. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

Nuamah is nursing an injury with the health situation ruling him out of contention for a call up to the Black Stars for 2025 AFCON qualifiers this month.
