President of African Aquatics, Mohamed Diop has remarked that Ghana hosting the 2024 Africa Aquatics Championships is a significant milestone for the nation, especially following its successful hosting of the 13th African Games.

The Aquatic Center at the Borteyman Sports Complex was once again alive with action, hosting the swimming Championships after Ghana took on the role of host after Nigeria withdrew as the original host nation.

Leading Ghana’s efforts were local swimming talents such as Abeiku Jackson, Joselle Mensah, Harry Stacey, Nubia Adjei, Michael Arthur Crabbeman, Oduma Agyei, Naima Kankam, and other rising stars.

It is a very nice facility.

This facility we use it in the all -African games and we are very happy to return in Ghana and can say Ghana,  Accra is a capital of swimming in Africa.

We’re very happy because I want to tell you in the four years Ghana organized five African Championship, three zonal championships, one continental African championship and all African games.

So it is a big achievement for Ghana hosting the Africa Aquatics Championship.

At the close of Day 1, Ghana’s top swimming talents lived up to expectations, with Nubia Adjei, Joselle Alice Mensah, Harry Stacey, Ivan Snowden, Oduma Agyei, and Naima Kankam all delivering standout performances in their respective events.
