Los Angeles Galaxy head coach Greg Vanney has praised the efforts of Joseph Paintsil in the team’s Major League Soccer (MLS) Cup success.
Vanney said this in his post-game presser after leading the Galaxy to clinch its sixth title which is a record number of title wins in the MLS.
Paintsil registered 14 goals and eight assists in 34 games in his debut season in the MLS with LA Galaxy after his surprise move from Belgian side KRC Genk earlier in 2024.
“It was about our style of play about the profiles that we wanted and finding guys that we felt like really fit with the guys we had and we’re on the upswing and these guys the guys that came in with Gabe (Gabriel Pec) and Joe (Joseph Paintsil) to start with them. I mean their ability to adapt to this league quickly and just have incredible seasons…they hit the ground running and had huge seasons.”

LA Galaxy beat New York Red Bulls 2-1 in the MLS Cup Final with Black Stars player Paintsil scoring the game’s first goal.
