Head coach of Ghana’s Black Satellites, Desmond Ofei, has called for his team to treat its final Group C game against Central African Republic (C.A.R.) with seriousness.
He made the call in the lead up to the game that takes place on Thursday, May 8 at 15:00 GMT with a win for Ghana likely to take the Black Satellites through to the quarterfinals as group winners.
Ghana has four points from beating defending champions Senegal 1-0 and drawing a 1-1 with D.R. Congo to rank second in the group ahead of the contest but despite being heavily tipped to progress beyond the group stage, Desmond Ofei believes that C.A.R. shouldn’t be taken lightly.
“We need a good result to guarantee qualification. This is like a final for us and we are treating it with the urgency it deserves. We can’t afford to be complacent against a hardworking side like C.A.R. They’ve shown they can hurt teams so we must remain focused and composed” Ofei said.

Making it to the semifinals qualifies Ghana to the 2025 FIFA Under 20 World Cup in Chile.
