Director at the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, William Katey, is adamant that the President’s Cup will kickstart the Government of Ghana’s commitment to restore Ghana’s football glory.
He made this statement in his speech delivered at the launch of the 2025 President’s Cup that will be held on July 6 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Archrivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak will battle for the trophy next month with the launch having the likes of Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) President John Ansah present.
William Katey, who represented Sports Minister Kofi Adams at the launch of this year’s competition that will be played in honour of Ghana President John Dramani Mahama stated,
“The honourable Minister and the government are very committed to restoring Ghanaian football to its old glory and the event [President’s Cup] is meant to kickstart this commitment. This event will serve as the stepping stone in this direction.”
